WOW!  That is the best word to describe it.  I did no preperation and put 300 rounds through it (PMC Bronze FMJ) as well as 8 rnds Dakota +P w/Glaser bullets.  I had zero mis-feeds, failures to…Continue

"Loktite (green) and soft hammer or a rubber head punch (sick I have one) -- all better.  If it did not drop free completely and move parts around.  If it dropped any parts loose inside I'd wait.  I don't see any danger of…"

"You could do a lot worse sticking with the PMC Bronze -- one could argue that in many cases it will penetrate properly where hollow points cannot.  If you do try something new, make sure it is a narrow mouth hollow point.  I use Winchester…"

"I think 147 is a bad idea in a Shorty -- think of the design.  With the bullet having more mass, the tank from the rear puts more stress on the crimp because of that.  124 is sufficient.  If you want big, get a 10mm Glock and load up…"

"That is odd.  Mine is one of the old hand made ones and may not represent the usual.  It does not even have patent info on it.  The first 250 or so did not and I think Arne essentially hand made them.  Now they are a little mass…"

"Hard to argue with -- more data is good.  My point is that there is plenty of good ammo that we know works well, so if you want no hassle, try that -- especially first.  I think once it is broken in (500 rounds) THEN it can be interesting…"

"Just a snarky opinion -- why keep trying all this stuff.  There are a few FMJ rounds (like PMC) that everyone says works. There are a few narrow mouth hollow points (like Winchester PDX-1 bonded( that everyone says works. Both are adequate…"

"Opinion -- you need to fire 100 rounds at least to make a decision.  One mag is almost meaningless.  If you have 98% reliability then one mag is likely to work 100%.  100 rounds will have two failures.  It is EXPENSIVE to shoot…"

"Just looking at it I can promise it will not work well in a Boberg.  The best is really a round nose FMJ, and for hollow points stick to narrow mouth hollow points.  That big old mouth with all those edges will not feed.  I also bet…"

Tips for non Boberg users coming from (say) a Glock

1) When assembling, the spring lines up with the hole in front.  The side with the pin (hard cap sticks out) goes to the back.  This is lightly explained but critical.  Do it wrong, it will not assemble.  Use too much force you bend a spring.  A bent spring does not enhance performance

2) Although this is also explained ... it is the only auto I have had that acts this way.  The release for the slide is excellent, easy to use, positive feel, does not cost finger nails to operate. …
