"mkeBob: Ugggghhh. Sorry to be the one to break the bad news. Arne is no longer at Boberg Arms which itself is no more in any event. Bond Arms picked up the assets of Boberg Arms and are just now releasing Bond Bullpups which are a slightly revised…"
""... after scary UPS screwup that just eventually “went away”without further UPS explanation..."
Hmmmm..... Someone tried to steal it. UPS "found" it buried under some discarded packaging materials, so no…"
"GONRA is confusing me. Query 1: Is the Bullpup 9 a true Bond Bullpup or is it the hybridized Bondberg? Query 2: IF it is a true Bond Bullpup, why then the Molykote G MoS2 paste, if the specialized barrel and unlock block treatment is permanent and…"
"Definitly count on another 700 - 800 rounds downrange before she smooths out. Also, possibly consider the after-market treatment of the unlock block and barrel lug so as to avoid the need for the molly coating. As I understand it, because of…"
"Sadly it is the gun that "killed" Boberg Arms. Not really, but a little bit. Mine mostly shoots well after well over 1000 rounds, but I do periodically get a live round kick out (LRE). I notice that it happens with some magazines and…"
"My LREs seem to be at least partially magazine related. I.e.: no LREs at all with some magazines, more than a few with other mags. Nevertheless it does seem likely that, as Mark has made abundantly clear, the root cause is malformed internal fixed…"
"Heh.... I wouldn't DARE touch THAT particular pistol mechanically at this point. She is THE first out of Boberg's factory door to a paying customer. My other two (S & L)... Well, I'd happily have them upgraded with properly…"
"Here are two additional images that show the fixed extractor from a different angle than the image I posted yesterday (2-19). I'm not convinced that they optimally show the angle of cut on the extractor, but there we are."
I FINALLY got well enough, and the weather finally was decent enough, and we had no mole-hill-turned-to-a-mountain projects to be able to shoot my Boberg for the first time on Sunday. I found that it does not like Remington ammo. Every first round would not chamber properly. Once chambered, every following round chambered without a problem. Did you get yours; and how do you like it?
BTW - the D3 is helping a lot. Thanks for the suggestion.
Well, it all started with emergency dental surgery with two weeks of antibiotics. In that two weeks, I caught a viral URI which churned up my asthma really bad. So a round of Prednisone and two inhalers fixed that. But the bugs weren't done with me yet, so they moved upwards and created a severe sinus infection for which I took two more rounds of antibiotics. I'm still not 100%. Part of the problem down here in Vestal is that we had all that severe flooding in September. There are still piles of debris all over and many condemned houses that have not yet been torn down. Until this past weekend, we've had temps in the mid- to high- 40s. We just had a cold snap (below 0° at night and in the 20s daily) that I am hoping did it's work. I take D3 daily, but not as high a dose as you. I'll have to step it up and see what happens. I also have been taking Echinacea with Goldenseal and Vitamin C every 6 - 8 hours. That always seems to help. I also have SAD which doesn't help. Thankfully, each day is getting longer.
If I don't get to the range this weekend, I definitely will next weekend because my husband has to meet a 'newbie' and go over our club safety and range rules. I'll just tag along and have some fun!
Hey, Luke. My Boberg arrived at my FFL in early December. I just got my hands on it to bring home last Tuesday and am looking forward to taking it to the range as soon as the weather lets up a little. I have been ill (I call it the creeping crud) since the beginning of November. You know.... you get something and it just won't let go of you.... and the longer you have it, the worse it gets...... creeping crud. Any way, I finally felt good enough to go to the range Saturday two weeks ago for a couple of hours. This weekend was the gun show. Temperatures dropped from a sultry 35° to below zero the past few nights; but we are supposed to have some nicer weather again in the next week. That means I'll be headed to the range with a smile on my face. I'll let you know how that workds out. I already know that the XR9 will fit in the Cross Breed holster I bought for my Glock 19 and I've got to order a couple extra mags. Right now I'm contented to have it in my possession.
