I received my brand-new XR45-S on Thursday evening and picked up some Winchester white-box FMJ to go with it.Went through a couple of mags worth on Thursday evening, with a couple of FTF, and then…Continue

"Odd.  I have absolutely no issues except for the reach.  I could shoot the XR45S all day, and only have a sore thumb from the damned sharp magazine ..."

"One side of the grip has more meat that can be removed than the other, and naturally I ended up doing that one first.  The result was that they don't quite meet cleanly, since I couldn't take the other one down far enough to meet…"

"I have the same "rotation" issue, and no issue with recoil hurting anything.  The reach is just horribly long for me."

"Hmmm ... so it's supposed to be sliding up into the extractor, just like the tongs?   The reason that OAL matters with regard to sliding up into the tongs is that once a cartridge is reaches the top of the mag that little piece of metal…"

"That was my original problem too.  After I got the part and replaced it I had too many LRE and FTF, so I sent it in.  They replaced the ejector spring. Now, my sense of it is that I just need to find the ammo that it really likes.…"

"Yes, that would be nice.  I've been truly spoiled by my Springfield XDM 3.8 --- carry with the nine-round, and have a thirteen-round mag in reserve.  But I'm not big enough to easily conceal the XDM, so I bought the XR-45."

"I think we'll have adequate notice that the terrorist threats are ramping up before any of us actually face that threat.  If things start to look really dangerous, I'll just sling my 300 Blackout SBR over my shoulder before I hit the…"

Paul Gumerman replied to Mollie's discussion XR9-S vs XR9-L vs XR45-S?
"I'm eager to get mine back so I can try the "middle finger trigger pull". I don't have any problem with accuracy, but I'm concerned about what happens in an instinctive (rather than sighted) firing situation.  Because…"

Paul Gumerman replied to Mollie's discussion XR9-S vs XR9-L vs XR45-S?
"That was what was happening to mine, but then it failed semi-catastrophically when that black piece got bent and tangled up in the innards. After I replace the lift mechanism I still had too many failures, so I sent it in. I just heard from Mark…"

Paul Gumerman replied to Mollie's discussion XR9-S vs XR9-L vs XR45-S?
"The distance from the back of the grip to the trigger on the XR45 is absurdly long for a subcompact gun.  I have short fingers; it's impossible for me to get my index finger on the trigger unless I have the gun rotated slightly toward my…"

Paul Gumerman replied to alejandrino villanueva's discussion Lighter trigger pull..
"There's a huge difference between "pull" and "reach".  I changed the spring on my XR45-S, and the 6.5# pull is not a problem, but with my small hands, the crazy-long *reach* is a problem that I simply didn't expect…"

Paul Gumerman replied to Kenneth Chapman's discussion XR45 range report
"The "lifter assembly" got quite messed up in mine --- the spring steel black piece bent, and got stuck.  I had to take the mag base plate off and pull the spring out in order to pull the mag out, and then get rid of a live round…"
